Using Hermes
Appearance
Choose how the dashboard looks, from light and dark palettes or your device's own setting.
The Theme tab sets how the dashboard looks on the device you're using. Pick one of eleven colour palettes, or let the dashboard follow your device's light or dark setting.
Opening the Theme tab
Open SettingsTheme: choose "Settings" in the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar, then "Theme". Or open it directly.
Everyone who's signed in has it: free and paid plans, simple and builder mode, and even while a new agent is still being set up. The tab describes itself as "How the dashboard looks on this device."
The palettes
The tab has three groups. Their labels show in capitals on screen.

Each palette is a card with a small swatch of its colours; the "System" card shows a monitor icon instead. The one you're using has a check mark in its corner.
Picking a theme
Click a card. The dashboard changes straight away; there's no save button.
Following your device
Choose "System" to match your device's setting: the dashboard uses Parchment when your device is set to light, and Ink when it's set to dark.
It keeps following while the dashboard is open, so if your device switches to dark in the evening, the dashboard switches with it.
The default
If you've never picked a theme, the dashboard uses Tactical, a dark palette, whatever your device is set to. To follow your device instead, choose "System".
One device at a time
Your choice is saved in the browser you picked it in, not in your account. Another device, or another browser on the same computer, keeps its own theme, so you can have a light laptop and a dark phone.
If your browser blocks sites from saving data (some private windows do), your choice isn't remembered, and the next visit starts on Tactical again.
Before you sign in
The chat on the home page has a theme picker in its top bar (the button is labelled "Theme"). It offers "System" and the same Light and Dark palettes.
It saves to the same place as the Theme tab, so a theme you pick there is still set when you sign in on that browser.
Common questions
Why does the dashboard look different on my phone?
The theme is saved per browser. Pick the one you want on each device.
Why did my theme reset?
The browser didn't keep your choice. That happens when site data is cleared, or in a private window that doesn't let sites save data. Pick it again; it stays as long as the browser keeps it.
